HARD ROCK x HARDWEAR - DxC LV FEB 2013

Once again DxC set it off in the desert. This time the 3rd floor of The Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas strip got a dose of FRESH !!! The DJs were on point, the drinks were flowing and there was plenty of heat to go around.

Not only were the live shows dope (s/o to all the performers) but we talked the bar tender into throwing the ASG on all the tv's (as if all the players kicks weren't already in attendance) Hopefully we get some pics up soon. PHOTOS

20 years ago a first of its kind, 12 man squad dubbed "The Dream Team" was comprised of 11 future NBA Hall Of Famers and a rookie from Duke. On top of that the clipboards were controlled by 3 future HOF coaches [RIP Chuck Daly] which led to 15 flawless victories and a Gold Medal. It was a statement, a defining moment for the country as a whole.

Besides pure athletic skill and utter dominance, there was a cool air of art & style that the Dream Team ushered in that's still relevant to this day. The court in Barcelona was clutered with big names, the jerseys were fresh and every player had a shoe, oohh the shoes!

Other than Westt himself, you'll only find 2 other vocal collabs. The first a homage to the hometown on Pro-Fedik's "takeoneformycity" and the other a chopped up trip with !LL-SoN on "silvertabz/greyhintz" advised to slap loudly!

So here's the deal: A Dunk A Day For All Of May - new, old and in-between.

This idea started while thinking of something to do during May to celebrate my birth month. I knew I was going to be wearing a lot of shoes and at first I was going to go strictly on a un-DS-ing mission "just to do it", then I thought about it ... why deprive myself of some of my faves? I went to the "stockroom" and just started opening boxes (this where it got interesting) a lot of memories started replaying while going through them. After some time passed I narrowed it down to my favorite model, The Dunk. Since its inception in 1985 it has had so many variations, colorways, colabs and changes hopefully this doesn't get boring. So tune in daily for a lil story or history and freshness update ... #31DAYSofDUNKS ... #NOHx2012

The Black Book Chronicles

      The 'black book' ... It's a writer's most valuable piece of property. Trust, it's more than a collection of crude illegible markings, full of bleeding color. However attained, be it five dollars or five finger discount, whats between the bindings is the real treasure!

      Starting off with it's crisp edges and pristine pages, they travel until they become duct-taped bound time machines showcasing beginnings and artistic growth. Every page is a unfolding story full of twist and turns. Some simple as black & white while others are exploding with prismacolored, penciled and inked fills.

      The 'black book' ... the birth place of sketches, original characters and individual expression. The testing grounds for new styles and the home to the blueprints of potential wreck sessions. For some, at times used as a visual journal or note pad. A rest haven for ideas. I mean it even functions as a futon for other artist to occasionally sleep a piece on.

      An artist' sketchbook is carefully guarded and it's contents usually only shared with those who will appreciate them ... This is your passport.
